Swan Upping

The Uppers pen a family of swans between their boats just below Chertsey Lock

And then grab them from the water.

For a few seconds the swans make desperate attempts to escape

but once caught they usually rapidly go calm

Holding an adult swan can be pretty difficult, but once their feet are tied they generally calm.
