Swan Upping

A quiet reach of the Thames at Laleham witth a pair of adult swans with a single cygnet.

The swans begin to suspect something is happening

And dive into the middle of some bushes before the uppers can reach them.

One of the adults comes up onto the bank, and was caught by an upper shortly after I took this picture

Its legs tied, this swan waits calmly on the floor of the skiff.

Whenever possible the swans are brought onto the bank for easier recording and health checks
