A Day Off - Canal Walk

Grand Union Canal: Wendover and Aylesbury. Mon 25 May, 2009

The Wendover arm was built to bring water and it still does contain running water along most of its length

though much is shallow, narrow and overgrown by trees

  Harebridge Lane Bridge

The Rothschild Bridge - part of the canal near here was put into a narrow channel to stop water leaking into the Rothschild house nearby

These swans were rather inconveniently placed on the path

We didn't need to walk across this bridge

or go through this meadow

Irises growing in the water

ducks of various hue not far from the end of the canal at Wendover
