Autumn Equinox: Druids at Primrose Hill

Primrose Hill, London. Tuesday 22 Sept 2009

The end of the procession waits as the circle forms on the hilltop

The circle on top of the hill

  The herald blows her horn

Each druid has a book with the order of service

The horn is sounded 4 times, to each point of the compass

and the sword is also raised to all four points with the question "Is it Peace"

The lady requests admittance to the circle

Her request is granted and the sword is raised

and she brings the horn of cider to the Head Druid

who drinks from it, then offers it to his neighbours

before going around the circle and pouring libations onto the earth

the flowers and fruit of the earth are also offered, and then given back to the erth
