Staines Moor

Staines Moor, Staines, Middx. Sunday 24 April 2001

The start of the River Ash

Pipe bridges across the Colne next to the Staines bypass

and a row of pylons coming across the moor

The Colne and, at right, Bonehead Ditch. We wonder where it's name comes from

I took this bridge across Bonehead Ditch, while Linda & Sam preferred the higher one a few feet upstream

Some of the trees are broken and twisted

They are in a rough circle

Looking out of the circle west across the moor - the distant trees are along the far edge of the moor

The brdige across the Colne and bullocks grazing

A small herd of cows, and some horses in the distance

Looking back along the Colne along the line of pylons. To the left of them are the trees by Bonehead Ditch.
