More Thames Path

Charlton to Belvedere, London. Monday 25 April 2011

There were two ferries working. I took my Brompton on as a foot passenger to travel with Sam & Linda, past the sign that prohibited bikes

We were on the John Burns, named after the great trade unionist and Labour politician who called the Thames 'liquid history'.

James Newman was Mayor of Woolwich in the 1920s

We went on the ferry as a treat for Linda

We didn't really want to go to North Woolwich, but you have to leave the ferry

The old pier at North Woolwich

Going back to Woolwich I travelled on the vehicle deck. Bikes can ride on and off before the cars & lorries
