Gasworks Dock Revived

Cody Dock & Bow Creek, London. Friday 13 April 2012

Bow Creek just outside Cody Dock, with the holders of Poplar gas works on the left and Canary Wharf in the distance behind Goldfinger's Balfron Tower

At left and right of the image is the fatwalk, appearing on both sides of this roughly 200 degree view of Bow Creek. The cable bridge at left is over the entrance to

Cody Dock, built to bring coal into the Imperial Gas Works at Bromley by Bow. The bend in Bow Creek is greatly exaggerated by the wide sweep of the image.
A more normal perspective on Bow Creek from a similar viewpoint

Cody Dock is now around 110m long and 30m wide, faced with brick, covered in parts

it was the lunch break while I was taking pictures. The grey fence surrounds the property

I didn't take any measurements, but the dock entrance is around 25-30ft wide

Two barges are moored at the Bow Creek wharf and into the entrance of the dock

The barges are a similar width to those that brought coal to the dock

Looking into the dock from the barrier across the entrance

Looking out under the cable bridge across the dock entrance towards a pipe bridge across Bow Creek
