Iraq Day Festival

Queen's Walk, South Bank, London. Sat 4 Aug 2012

Afternoon Prayers. A reminder that this was taking place in Ramadan

In the audience listening to the singing

I think all of these women are wearing clothes from the Sazamo boutique - its stall visible at right

The Kurdish musicians were told they had to leave and another group of Iraqi musicians replaced them

I think this woman had come from Sweden to sing at the event

There was a long queue for the food

Children with umbrellas in front of the Sazamo boutiqe stall

People kept listening and applauding the singing despite the rain - most had umbrellas

For a few minutes there was a very heavy shower, but the festival continued

But interesting though it was I had to go and work elsewhere.
