	EDL Outnumbered in Chelmsford Chelmsford, Essex. Sat 18 Aug 2012
	Police hold the Essex Unite Against Fascism march until the EDL are inside the cordon around their rally and I get there just as they are starting The marchers come from Essex and neighbouring counties with the message 'Racist EDL NOT welcome here!'
	There are several people in clerical dress, including this local hospital chaplain Two EDL supporters came to shout at the march and were quickly led away by police The Traveller Solidarity Network supported the Dale Farm residents against eviction The EDL were behind a couple of police lines perhaps 200 yards away, but they will have been able to hear the strength of the opposition. Earlier the EDL had been told there were only around 50 UAF, but in fact there were more than 200, at least 3 times as many as the EDL, and their rally in the centre of the city would have been seen by many more than the EDL march or their rally which was surrounded with police cordons and at least one tall specially erected fence.
