Hornsea to Aldbrough

Fri-Sat 21-22 Sep 2012

Our hotel room had a truly panoramic view over the North sea - with distant ships, wind turbines & platforms

And on Saturday we woke just after sunrise to a fairly spectacular sky

We had soon made a mess of the room, with clothes along the foot of the double bed

We had a short walk in Hornsea after a large breakfast and then went to the bus stop

There aren't many buses to Withernsea, and it took around an hour for the roughly 20 miles

passing several 'chalet' sites and roads that now lead to nowhere

Cowden Holiday Park didn't look enticing. Abandon hope all ye who enter here was my thought.

Aldbrough seems a pleasant little place, with churches, pubs and a few shops

These views were from the bus, but we were aiming to walk back to here from Withernsea

The bus makes a detour down to the cliff top at Aldbrough

which also has its share of caravans
