Million Women Rise

Oxford St to Trafalgar Square, London. Sat 9 Mar 2013

I had to run from Marble Arch along Oxford St, arriving just in time to photograph the start of the march.

 And off it went

There were many banners for groups of women born overseas, including one for the women of Darfur

A few people had brought pots and pans to bash to make a noise

Most carried the Million Women Rise placard 'Together we can end male violence against women'

But there were plenty of others, not all in English. The Black Feminists had a banner

and so did Asha (it means truth or righteousness, or in Sanskrit, hope)

Daymer & MCLH Women's group banner 'For Equality & Justice - Unite & Fight against Exploitation'
