Gurdwara Rebuilt After Arson

Bow, London. Sun 23 Jun 2013

The Gurdwara was built as Harley St Congregational Chapel in 1854-5 and is Grade II listed

Burnt down by an arsonist who police have never caught in March 2009, the facade has been carefully restored

The procession of Khalsa (baptised Sikh men) brings out the Guru Granth Sahib (Holy Scripture) to be processed around the area

The Guru Granth Sahib is carried reverently on a cushion on a man's head under covers and an umbrella

and is handed to the attendants on the float for the procession

 There was a long recitation

Woman stood close behind the speaker
