'Cops Off Campus' Protest Police Brutality

Bloomsbury, London. Fri 6 Dec 2013

Students stop and shout for a few minutes outside the Malet St gates of Senate House

When students tried to march away they were stopped by a line of police; those who tried to go through were

 pushed back roughly

The students stood in front of the police, then turned round and saw more police at the other end of the street

and blocking their way on the only side road. They turned onto the campus and walked past SOAS

and then up Thornhaugh St

By the time they were opposite the top end of Malet St, the police who had been there were way down the road.
The gate to University College from Torrington Place was shut with security guards on it.

The students marched up Gower St, where a group of around 20 police jogged up and then stopped on the
other side of the road watching the tail end of the protest

The students went  in the front gate of University College and stood in the yard

before deciding to move on and make their way by the back streets to Torrington Square

I met them as they arrived back

but decided I'd had enough walking round London and went to catch a bus
