Walks around Staines

Staines - Thorpe - St Ann's Hill - Chertsey etc. 28 Dec 2013

Coming out of Thorpe we went down Lyne Lane which goes across the M3

and then followed a path between the M3 and the sewage farm which was hidden on the top of a hill

At the motorway junction the path turns to the right to follow the M25

  Lyne Motocross track

And goes up the hill to a field which was full of cows and calves

We could see a few buildings on the sewage farm and recycling centre in the distance

Much of the field was mud

One or two of the cows looked a little agressive but they kept their distance

There was deep mud in the corner by the stile - and the mud seemed to be largely cow dung

The next field had a bridge across the M25

and a path blocked by many fallen trees (most larger than this) led to St Ann's Hill Road
- it was slow going as we had to break branches and climb over some

We didn't have time to have a good look at St Ann's Hill, and walked down
into Chertsey to catch a bus home.
