It is a fight to retain quality of care in the health service  And a Unison worker with a banner from the strikers  came and stood on the platform as he spoke  Ian Lawrence of NAPO speaking on their fight against privatisation of the probation service   Luftur Rahman, Mayor of Tower Hamlets is rightly proud of his record - the first living wage borough, the have  continued EMA payments, given students a £1500 grant, provided free home care and more.  Its hardly suprising he has come under attacks from the establishment and the right-wing press, with a  truly scurrilous attack from the BBC shortly before the Mayoral election - which he won by well over 3000 votes in the second round. |
