Shaker Aamer protests continue to shame UK

Parliament Square, London. Wed 19 Nov

The protesters this week were behind a double barrier intended to keep students out of the square

which made it harder to hand out flyers. There was also a fence around the grass behind them

but the students had vaulted over the barriers into the square

Kate Hudson reads one of the flyers about Shaker Aamer

The students had pushed over some of the barriers and fences so people could walk onto the square

I saw the protesters were leaving the square

A man in an Obama mask with placard 'Guantanamo A moral and Legal Outrage Close it'

Shaker is kept in Guantanamo despite being cleared for release 7 years ago because his evidence about

torture would embarass both US and UK security services

I left and ran after the students
