Candlelit Vigil for Michael Brown

US Embassy, Grosvenor Sq, London. Wed 26 Nov 2014

The decision not to prosecute the officer who shot the unarmed Mike Brown shocked many though it

was hardly a surprise. Killing by police very seldom lead to prosecutions in the US or in the UK

There was a packed crowd in front of the US embassy and I knew I wanted to be in the middle with them as they

held candles, which were virtually the only light for these pictures.

After I'd taken some pictures in the crowd I struggled through it and around to the front of the protest

where I joined the rest of the press taking pictures of the people at the front of the protest

Most of the placards were those from an earlier protest by 'Stand Up to Racism' who had decided not to

work with London Black Revs who had organised this event but instead had set up their own.
