Dorney Walk

Dorney, Bucks. Mon 8 Jun 2015

House in Dorney

Impressive gates in Dorney

A building in Dorney Court

The end of Eton's Dorney Lake

Large Houses by the Thames. The footpath runs between them and the river

The M4 crosses the Thames here

And there is a lock at Dorney Reach

The Jubilee River, built to divert Thames floods away from Maidenhead and Dorney down to Wraysbury and Staines

Our OS map marked both the Jubilee River and a footpath that used to go across where it now runs. But we didn't swim

We had meant to cross the Jubilee River then come back across this bridge half a mile downstream

A view from the bridge

We walked back along the footpath

to the pub - where the food is rather better than the average pub.
