Ripper 'Museum' Candlelit Vigil

Cable St, London. Thu 26 Nov 2016

  

 
 The 'museum' was closed but the lights were still on as a man was cleaning it

 People arrive for the vigil, incuding the great-great-great granddaughter of Catherine Eddowes, Jean Smith and her daughter Tracy

 As the vigil began, candles were handed out and lit

Police watched from a van parked next to the vigil 

A speaker from the Salvation Army talks about the area and the the acheivements of women in the East 

End including the Suffragetes, the Match workers who carried out the first industrial strike and others. 

 

 

Different people read out what is known about the lives of each victim of the terrible murders
