Boxing Day Walk

Staines, Runnymede & Old Windsor. Sat 26 Dec 2015

We made our way around another part of the Thames on the meadows

passing close to this pond with bullrushes

There is a long stretch of water close to the bottom of Coopers Hill

and much of the woodland, like the meadow is National Trust property

At one end the land is privately owned and the neglected woodland here, now fenced off, was the site for over
three years of the Runnymede eco-village.

The RAF Memorial is on the top of the hill

Coopers Hill Lane and Kingswood, now owned by Royal Holloway

 The RAF memorial

We went down the lane at the other side of the privately owned area which was occupied by the eco village

to the acre of the USA containing the Kennedy memorial

and down to the meadow and The Jurors

There may be an exhibition here about Magna Carta by Brunel University inside this shed,
but it has never been open when I've passed

French Brothers 'Queen of the Thames'.
