UVW Topshop Protest - Oxford St

John Lewis, Oxford St, London. Sat 16 Apr 2016

A colleague helps the woman who a police officer threw to the floor; in the background Petros Elia points his finger at the officer

and shouts angrily at the officer who threw the woman to the floor

A senior officer cames and talks with Petros, trying to calm the situation

He insists that the officer should apologise

The senior officer talks with the woman

and gets the officer to apologise to her for his inappropriate use of force

The apology quietens things down a little

and the protest continues noisily but without further violence by police

Sandy Nicoll of SOAS Unison speaks

Suddenly, as people were walking away, police grab one protester and drag her across Oxford St

where she is questioned and searched, surrounded by

police who try hard to prevent people filming and taking photographs, despite complaints from the press

Class War roll up their banners

And then police grab another protester

and force him to remove his hood and goggles, threatening him with arrest. Some of the police have followed
the leaving protesters and there are not enough of them to prevent us taking pictures.

Police move away after the protesters who are going back to Topshop. But It's time for me to go home.
