Close Australian Refugee Detention Camps

Australian High Commission, London. Fri 26 Aug 2016

The protesters marched to the High Commision behind a banner 'Justice for Omid Masoumali 1992-2016

He was an Iranian refugee held at Nauru and set fire to himself in front of visiting officials from the United Nations

after hearing he would remain imprisoned on the island for another ten years.

Protesters hold posters of others who have died in detention

The protesters have decided to read out the over 2,000 leaked incident reports first published in The Guardian

which detail assaults, sexual abuse, self harm, child abuse and terrible living conditions in the camps,

They start the reading, each person reading for around a quarter of an your

and then being replaced by another reader

they still had over six hours to go when I left
