	Lighting the smudge stick of Lakote sage It is held above an abalone bowl a feather is used to waft the smoke over each person around the circle in turn Then an American flag is smudged and the Lakota nation flag
	and the ceremony continues with both flags held in the circle A man blows out a large cloud of yellow powder in front of the banner outside the US Embassy in a non-violent, prayerful act of solidarity Elliot Staircase who organised the protest works with the Standing Rock Sioux tribe 'Quit your pipe dreams - Reality requires alternatives'
