'Day of Rage' march for Grenfell

Shepherds Bush Green - Parliament Square, London, UK. 21st June 2017

Antonia Bright of Movement for Justice speaks on Shepherds Bush Green

Quite a few people spoke at the open mike before the start of the march. This woman brought solidarity from her estate in Glasgow

Grenfell Residents spoke calling for a peaceful protest. The organisers assured them that they had always intended
for the protest to be peaceful and that stories about violence were simply a deliberate media distortion.

 Karen Doyle of MfJ

Several protesters carried placards showing some of the victims killed in the fire

'Bring Down the government - Guilty of Murder - #Justice4Grenfell'

'Greed Kills - Justice for Grenfell'

 'This Rage is Justified'

Many stressed that the disaster was one waiting to happen because of the actions of councillors, politicians and others

who didn't care for the safety of those living in social housing but put profit before safety, ignoring the warnings

from earlier fires, coroners recommendations and expert opinions. RBKC even paid for a consultant to help them get around fire inspections

Many asylum seekers and undocumentd migrants are thought to have been killed, though they were there without records and the true number will never be known. Those who escaped have been offerend a limited time amnesty, but the government will probably deport them after a year.
MfJ calls for them all to be tiven indefinte leave to remain.

One man carries a crucifix and holds a poster calling for no cover up by May's coalition of millionaires and bigots

The march sets off behind the banner 'We Need Justice For Grenfell Tower'.
