Mitie get 'Worst Employer' Award

Southwark Bridge, London. Fri 21 Jul 2017

Two men from Ofcom come to talk with Alberto Durango as he waits outside their offices on Southwark Bridge Rd

One tells him that it is none of Ofcom's business as the cleaners are employed by Mitie not Ofcom, so they should

go to Mitie's offices to protest. But that is simply nonsense. Ofcom pay Mitie and are responsible for what they do.

One man leaves. The other is more reasonable and talks more sensibly

and is at pains to tell me how Ofcomm have acutally ensured that Mitie pay the living wage and assures us that

they will talk to Mitie about CAIWU's grievances. He says he will try to get someone from Mitie to come out and

meet with CAIWU. Alberto waits outside the locked doors and holds up the certificate for Mitie.

 and waits

and waits, calling loudly for someone from Mitie to come

and waits - but nobody comes

and they decide they will have to post the award to them.
