Justice for Marikana vigil

South Africa House, London. Wed 16 Aug 2017

The protesters lined up facing South Africa House

and were holding photographs of the miners who were killed at Marikana

A security man comes out of the South African embassy to complain and tells the protesters they must take the posters off the wall

but the protesters say they have always put them there at protests and leave them.

After around 15 minutes two police officers arrive and persuade the protesters it would be better to stand in front

of the wall around the High Commission in any case, and they move

Primrose Nokulunga Sonti arrives from the BBC and joins the vigil

A trade unionist speaks in support of the Marikana victims

 A PACSF speaker

A woman hands out sunflowers to the protesters
