Cotswold Holiday

Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-Water, the Slaughters,

We went down a side road

and then along a foot path to the River Windrush, where we sat to have our picnin

and then back down the footpath into the main street before starting our walk back to our holiday cottage

A foot path took us towards Lower Slaughter

 River Eye at Lower Slaughter

The Mill at Lower Slaughter has a shop and a cafe - and we stopped for tea and cake

before taking the path to Upper Slaughter in light rain

 Upper Slaughter

 The ford at Upper Slaughter

and the former Methodist Chapel, now a studio

The sign says 'Deep Ford' but it was very shallow at the moment

We walked along a couple of roads to get back to the Roman road - which continues here as a proper road

but was a track in the direction we were walking

Light rain meant there were no really distant views

and we were getting pretty wet. My boots soaked through and so did my socks...
