ORAL Squat empty NatWest Bank

Upper St, Islington, London. Wed 8 Nov 2017

One of the ORAL squatters sits outside the squatted bank playing guitar

and collecting donations from those passing by. The squat offers free tea and coffee for the homeless as well as clothing

 'The Tory/DUP Regime Must Go'

Most of the occupiers were out but those present were happy to show us around

Inside things are a little messy, but there is no real damage

there is still a war memorial from an earlier bank destroyed in WW2

 'Welcome Home'

The building was well lit and warm. One of the first things the squatters did was to arrange to pay for the electricity

they were using - and once the police knew this they left them along.

'Love is Real - Love only when you break all the rules'

A warning to the occupiers about asbestos in the boiler room...

 'RefuseFascism.org'

 Welcome Home

No Fixed Abode Anti-Fascists (NFAAF) is a group of squatters, travellers and homeless people combating fascist and bailiff thuggery.

The upper floor is reached though a separate entrance from the street

 and has a roof terrace

and a view into the Islington Council's offices next door

 'We Are Anarchy'

'Refugees Welcom' 'Escape Capitalism - Organise, Strike, Occupy - Socialist Federation' 'Squat the Lot'

and a crude skeleton hangs from a first floor window

And the message on the door is 'Squat the Lot'
