Ennerdale arrival
Ennerdale Bridge, Cumbria. Fri 31 Aug 2018
Our train made only a couple of stops on the way from London to Penrith
including one at Warrington Bank Quay
At Penrith the castle is opposite the station, and we had plenty of
time to admire it while we waited for the bus
We sat on the top deck of the double decker to enjoy the views as
it took us through Keswick
and on to Cockermouth, where we alighted. The bus stops outside two
pubs and while the rest of our group opted
for a tea shop I went into The Bush to taste the local bitter while
we waited for a friend to come and take us to Ennerdale Bridge
After supper we walked the mile and a bit to Ennerdale Water, arriving
as the sun was going down behind us
but still illuminating the higher ground and other parts not in the
shade
