Carter's Steam Fair

Englefield Green, Surrey. Sun 30 Sep 2018

 Carters Steam Yachts

In the middle panel is a Hull trawler. Originally built for a Yorkshire showman the steam yachts were bought and

lovingly restored by Carters in 1982-4, with a new steam organ added

When young I was very envious of a friend who had a pedal car that looked very much like these

 A nest of unicorns

Carters Wonder Railway - pulled by the Marlow Donkey, clearly based on the Great Western Railway

 The Ghost Train

with a passenger keen to leave after going through the tunnel

It's Fast! A torture I declined to put my body through

Whoever painted this had a funny idea of DELIGHT

 A van with unicorns

The steam yachts - one of only two remaining and the only in regular use - are rather remarkable

as too are the Jubilee Steam Gallopers from 1895

 An attractive mermaid

 and another

We'd missed the fireworks which had been on Saturday evening.
