Blood of Our Children - XR

Downing St, London. Sat 9 Mar 2019

One of the two marches to Downing St halts on Whitehall

Young people hold posters at the front

A line of people carry buckets of fake blood. They intend to get arrested for throwing it on the street

At Downing St the other march has arrived and is waiting for them

A woman rings a bell - when she stops the the pouring of the blood will begin

People stand ready with their buckets of fake blood

and the second march arrives with more people with buckets

They stand ready, waiting for the signal (and trying to move photographers who are in the way back)

The first bucket is poured, and others walk out to pour their buckets

 followed by a second wave

 and a third

 the blood drains across Whitehall

and the speeches begin. All fo the first speakers are young people

People stand and listen in silence

 A young pregnant mother speaks

and girl who I think was nine

 A very articulate young man

 a young Muslim woman

 a pair of young students

Those who had poured the fake blood sit patiently waiting to be arrested - but police took no action

Rebel for LIfe - fathers and children

and a grandmother speaks
