No more deaths on our streets

Downing St, London. Fri 15 Mar 2019



 It was getting dark as the vigil opposite Downing St began

 Various groups who work with the homeless had come, including people from the SImon Community

 and supporters of DPAC

  Elaine Morrall, from Runcorn, died at her home in 2017 after her benefits were stopped because being in intensive care
was not sufficient reason for failing to attend a universal credit interview. She couldn''t afford to heat her home and
died from the cold with her coat and scarf on, waiting for her children to come home from school.

 Maggie's banner says 'One death is too many'. On the other side it names around a hundred people who have died because of cuts

 799 is the number of homeless people are known to have died on our streets in the past 18 months
