Staines Walk

Staines, Middx. Sun 7 Apr 2019

 Staines Railway Bridge

The towpath ends on the Surrey side here and begins again downstream under the bridge on the Middlesex bank

 Staines Boat Club gate

 houses by the towpath

The backs of houses on The Hythe face the river

a footbridge takes the towpath over part of a former stream of the Thames. Dry now, it still marks the border

The Swan Hotel from Staines Bridge

This ugly block replaced an impressive Regal cinema, later the ABC, which closed in 2001 and was demolished

The owners of this listed building from the 1830s beside the River Colne seem to be hoping it will fall down

The War Memorial in Market Square
