Drax Protest at BEIS

Axe Drax protesters had come to BEIS - The Department for Business,
Energy & Industiral Strategy
calling for an end to subsidies for climate destroying power generation
like Drax's biomass burning
Drax is phasing out coal burning (though it still gets some subsidy
for that) and wants to build a huge gas-fired
generator - which would begin producing huge quantities of CO2 in
2025 - when XR calls for us to be Zero carbon
Time is running out - and we need a rapid shift away from all carbon
fuels
and into real renewables like wind and solar - and to cut our energy
use. Those subsidies should go on
windfarms - especially onshore - on solar panels and on energy saving
- insulation, higher building staqndards...
and we need to stop subsidising giant polluters like Drax.
