Pride is a Protest
Regent's Park, London. Sat 6 Jul 2019
I asked this man with remarkable angel wings to pose next to one of
the sculptures that were on display in the park
which I though was appropriately surreal
There was a group from the Chinese community waiting to take its place
in the parade
And the London Gay Men's Chorus were getting some instructions.
People from 'the Food Chain' on their way to join the parade
Furries who dress up as furry animals
pose for a group photo
before going to join the official parade. They must have been very
hot in these suits
and a group of NHS workers.
Others had come to take part in a protest at the end of the official
parade, a Queer Liberation March
against the increasing corporate natue of Pride

A mother and daughter with the message 'Trans Women of Colour Started
Pride' at Stonewall in New York
'Lesbians for Trans Rights'
A group marches up the road with a sound system, posters and placards
to join the Queer Liberation March
'No Pride in Detention' placard supporting the African Rainbow Family
as do other posters
and posters for Lesbians and Gays Support the Migrants
#PROUDEVERYDAY
I had meant to stay with the Queer Liberation March, but when I heard they
were probably going to have to wait
for another couple of hours to march I left to go elsewhere, intending to
return, but I didn't.
