managed to make my way to the state as

Whitehall was densely packed. Police asked people not to try to move
towards Parliament Square as they
were worried that people might be crushed. It was the largest crowd
I've ever seen there.

Police had asked the organisers to tell people to leave only in the direction
of Trafalgar Square as Whitehall was too packed going towards Parliament
Square. It was very slow going leaving even though I was more or less at
the front of the crowd.
