British National (Overseas) Passport Holders

 A small protest over Hong Kong passports was taking place in Old Palace Yard. When Thatcher was taking part

 in secret negotiations over the future of Hong Kong, the UK didn't want to give any foreigners the right to come

 and live here. They might think of themselves as British, but they were not white. Our institutional racism meant

we were happy to give them a fairly meaningless document, the British National (Overseas) Passport..
