Aylesbury Estate Occupation

Aylesbury Estate, Southwark, London. Thur 5 Feb 2015

  

 
 Chartridge (centre) occupied since last Saturday in a protest for housing in London

 

 occupiers climb in and out as the entrances were blocked by the council

 

 

 

 'Respect Aylesbury Ballot - Stop the Demolition Now!' Residents voted overwhelming for refurbishment not redevelopment

There are over a million empty properties in the UK - more than enough to house everyone 

'Property = Theft' 

People bring mattresses and bedding for the occupation 

 

a ground floor area is open and used for community meetings 

People are gathering to deliver leaflets across the estate for a public meeting
