Silverdale Holiday

Silverdale, Lancs. Wed 26 Aug 2015

Just before lunch we made our way down to the beach at The Shore

and climbed up into the cave there - a natural cave made by water, but possibly enlarged

and then walked along the beach to The Shore

We took another walk after lunch towards Silverdale church, and through the churchyard

past a house and on a path to Stankelt Rd, walking along this and into Hollins Lane and taking the path by Fleagarth Wood

eventually getting a view towards Cragfoot and Warton Crag from the edge of Heald Brow

The tiny chimney at the centre of the image was for the pumping station when the area was being drained

and to the right is an area of salt marsh

The embankment runs off towards

Quakers Stang and then turns towards the chimney at Crog Foot. There were copper mines in Warton Crag above

We continued west along the path towards Brown's Houses

which goes along the edge of the marshes
